On March 29, I participated in the Goose Spring Flex tournament at Goose Landing in Richfield, NC. This was my first tournament in the MA50 division.
I had only played Goose Landing once before. DiscDyeAddict and I played a tournament there in September of 2022. On that occasion I lost (but also recovered!) my Latitude64 Fury. I had hoped to return to the course for a casual round, but never managed it.

But I was feeling confident about my game and so decided to play the tournament. And I’m glad I did. I performed very well. I shot +3 which was 883 rated and placed second. I had one blow-up hole, the elevated basket #6, which because of the wind played havoc with me and I quadrupled bogeyed!
Needless to say, that blow-up gave me an opportunity to practice resilience (be a goldfish!) I made a instagram post about it (featuring a Son Lux song I’ve always liked and a cool Art Nouveau painting).
But ultimately I was satisfied with my performance and encouraged. That rating will hopefully go a long way toward my goal of achieving ‘850 by 50’.
