I was in Las Vegas for a business trip and managed to squeeze in a round at a course I’ve never played before. On previous trips to Las Vegas I had played Mountain Crest, Sunset Park and Peccole Ranch. This trip I made my way North and found the 9 hole course at Gary Reese Freedom Park.
I knew I would be getting there late, but since it is an athletic facility I had thought it would be lit, or would have at least some significant ambient light. But unfortunately, the 9 hole disc golf course is adjacent to all the baseball fields and courts and so was very dark soon after nightfall.
I had only a handful of discs with me, but because of the lighting issue, and the significant wind, making it somewhat challenging to see how far and in what direction my disc flew, I choose to only throw my white colored Warship. There is no signage and the teepads are very small, so I had to rely heavily on UDisc’ layout (which is not current… there is now a dog park and so holes 2 and 3 have been modified). Because of how I entered the course (by way of the lighted fields) I started on hole 6. I did not really play particularly well… the wind made anything outside the bullseye nearly impossible. I did get lucky and had a blind 70 foot throw in on #2 to get par. It was a pleasant surprise to hear the chains in the dark. Sadly, I didn’t take a single picture; really just to dark.

I don’t think this course is played very much. I managed to make the leaderboard with my score.
