This was my first tournament at Rock Ridge Park. I had played the course for the first time about a month ago (I recorded it – Expedition #97 – check it out). I played the short tees, the Red.
This tournament was a two round event, and was the All-Star layout, which was a mix of red and blue. This means that on a few of the holes, I was playing the tee for the first time.
Overall I did well. I had a good first round, shooting a +2 and getting three birdies. This put me on the chase card for the MA3 (along with James Sloop). But I couldn’t sustain it and shot +6 the second round, and finished middle of the division. My rounds were 880 and 844 rated, which both were above my rating, but in pursuit of my goal of ‘850 by 50’ I am trying to avoid playing below 850 rated.
